CEO, Laurie Aronson and Brad Little of Le Chameau USA made a trip to Paris last month to meet with Lafuma Group, the company that manufactures Le Chameau products worldwide. Besides the romance that this legendary city provides, important global strategies for the brand were unveiled.The 2012 Le Chameau will focus on these goals:
- Innovation of rubber boot products for the outdoor consumer
- Expansion of boot models using leather and Gore-tex materials
- Exploring new multi-use footwear for urban consumers interested in the Lifestyle collection
The Americans were delighted to spend time with their french hosts, Romain Millet, General Manager and Sylvain Peronnau, Vice President of Global Sales for the brand, who graciously treated them to a dinner cruise along the Seine River. The group was particularly excited to discuss the opportunities for global expansion in the US and North America, where natural rubber footwear is not only practical, but is becoming a lifestyle choice and fashion statement.
Very cool…I am seriously considering investing in a pair of the Le Chasseur’s for my hunting and outdoor needs. Several of the other brands have become very much like the rest…quality is starting to recede in a lot of the things we are getting in the U.S. and I am becoming disappointed with the quality of products we have been using for years that have now been outsourced to China.
